LGBT: Sad Movies that make you cry?
So for the past week I’ve been watching sad movies non stop. It just feels so good to cry to a movie! I really want to find some more to watch, so I figured I’d ask you guys.

So far I’ve watched My sister’s keeper, Shelter (FINALLY a gay themed movie that was actually good), and Bridge to Terabithia (I was not expecting this movie to be as sad as it was).

Any recommendations? Could be gay themed or whatever. (Not sure if this is a well known movie, but I’ve already seen mysterious skin, which wasn’t really gay themed but it had quite a bit of gay sex scenes lol)

Prayers For Bobby Is a really great movie. It’s about a 20 year old guy that is gay and is in a religious family. His family comes to terms with his sexuality except his mother. His Mother is very conservative. He ends up commiting suicide over a freeway. His mother regrets it and is so sorry and starts accepting gays/lesbians from them on.

How do you ruin someone's Xmas Eve?
Hypothetically speaking. Because I’ve got this really rude neighbour who has been causing me nothing but problems for the last …. 16 months, and we share a wall where my kitchen is and his living room is. And I’m making Mexican which can take upto 4 hours. So I think some vengeance is in order.

My choices are: Loud loud bass-pounding music pressed right up against the wall. Probably Rammstein, NIN, Nirvana, maybe some Bjork and Nightwish. I want to choose music that I like, not just music others don’t like. (Not everybody gets Symphonic Metal so maybe not Nightwish.)

Obnoxious movies with me as the laughtrack. Oh my, you will never hear me laugh as hard unless I’m watching Team America World Police or *Something* Movie or something by Kevin Smith. (Not Epic Movie. Or Meet the Spartans. Only the good ones.) There’s just something about D&F jokes for Rs that make me laugh.

Drunk Kareoke: Probably wouldn’t work so well without a songbook.

Run the taps: Ironic noise option. This one would probably annoy me just as much.

Something else: You suggest. Nothing that would get me evicted but would definitely piss him off. He’s taken pleasure in hurting me, now it’s payback.

Shogun Assassin has a crappy dub. Watch the original series. Its called Lone Wolf and Cub and there are six movies.

But they messed up the whole movie. I’ve seen both versions and its a completely different movie. Plus Shogun Assassin cuts out a lot of scenes.

As for which sample is better, Shogun Assassin for sure.

This is yet another example of Marvel going WAY over the top with certain characters. It’s sickening when these nerdy people can’t seem to accept that GOOD STORIES are written about characters who CAN be beaten.

DC made this mistake with Superman, allowing his powers to increase to such a ridiculous level that the rest of the DCU was rendered useless and people just stopped reading Superman. I gave up with the foolish "Hear a whisper a galaxy away" crap. Ever wonder WHY Batman remains so popular? BECAUSE HE CAN BE KILLED/

Soon as DC corrected that problem by revamping Superman, in 1986, Marvel went the TOTAL Opposite way and became even MORE ridiculous than Pre-Crisis Superman.

Now, suddenly there are BILLIONS of Mutants (90s comics SUCK), and ANY of them can SHUFF OUT THE EARTH with but a thought.

I remember when Magneto was one of Marvel’s coolest villains but could STILL BE DEFEATED because he had LIMITS. THAT IS WHAT MAKES CHARACTERS COOL.

Magneto should be limited to just the known metels on earth in SOLID form. That means he can not effect a human’s blood. I understand the concept but, if that’s the case, he should be able to just TAKE OVER THE WHOLE F#$#@n PLANET.

There are certain characters he should NOT be able to effect.

THOR: Mjolnir is MYSTIC. It’s NOT bound by regular earthly Laws of Physics.

SILVER SURFER is NOT Metel. His skin is of some COSMIC substance created by Galactus.

GALACTUS wears something that LOOKS like Metel but, again, He’s a COSMIC BEING, NOT Bound by Earth’s Law of Physics.

Superman is CALLED the "Man of Steel" BECAUSE of his Strength and Durability. He’s NOT actually MADE OF STEEL.

Dr DOOM is metel but Marvel has ALWAYS written DOOM in such that he would KNOW of Magneto’s Powers and already have a means to counter them.

I dont know if Marvel has changed him but I’ve never known Magneto to be able to effect JUGGERNAUT’s Helmet.

Powerful as he may be, Magneto was STILL BORN ON EARTH.

1. Which of his works have you read and which is your favourite? Why?

Mine would have to be "The Sun of Death" ("O Hlios toy Thanatoy"). Although it is some years since I first read this work, the pictures imprinted in my mind from his narrative have not ever faded. His love of Crete is very evident in the intricate detail of description of the countryside and all living things. One must but wonder if perhaps his characters were real people.

2. Which of his characters in which book do you remember clearly, and why?

4. Any thoughts about this writer and/or his work?
